NPBEA: About Us

The National Policy Board for Educational Administration (NPBEA) is a national alliance of major membership organizations committed to the advancement of school and school-system leadership. Member organizations represent the educational administration profession and collaborate to improve the preparation and practice of educational leaders at all levels. Member organizations include: the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO), the International Council of Professors of Educational Leadership (ICPEL),the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), and the University Council for Educational Administration (UCEA).

Our purpose is to unite the voices and resources of leading professional organizations serving educational leaders in P-12 and leadership preparation. Through a shared commitment, we aim to prepare, empower, and support the nation’s school administrators as they shape the future of education.

Our mission is to develop, advance, and promote research-informed educational leadership standards, policies, preparation, and practices that empower educational leaders in preparation programs, schools, and districts.

NPBEA is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation.
