Familiar ITS Services Now Available on the iPhone
If you are a member of The University of Texas at Austin community and own an iPhone, there are a number of familiar ITS services available to users with the update installed. Services newly available to the iPhone include:
- ‘restricted.utexas.edu’ connectivity
- Austin Exchange Messaging Service support
- Ability to receive digitally signed e-mails
- Ability to listen to SmartVoice messages through e-mail
Connecting to Wireless Network (restricted.utexas.edu) after WPA2 Upgrade
On Tuesday, August 5, 2008, WPA2 functionality was added to the restricted.utexas.edu wireless network on campus. WPA2 is a security protocol that can improve the stability and reliability of connections for wireless users, as well as offering stronger network security. Most users won’t need to change anything to enable their computers or wireless devices to use the updated security protocol.
