The mission of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction is to achieve excellence and equity in educational practice and scholarshipthroughout the state and nation.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction builds and nurtures communities of learners through research, creative activity, scholarly inquiry, and the development of new knowledge in all academic areas relevant to our mission.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction prepares and supports educators in the interrelated areas of undergraduate teacher education, graduate education, research, and public service at all educational levels from early childhood through the life span.
